First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paxton, IL

The First Lutheran Church welcomes you to worship with us. First Lutheran is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).

From September to Memorial Day we offer a contemporary service each Sunday at 8 a.m. and a traditional service at 10:30 a.m. Communion is offered the first and third Sunday of the month. Sunday School for ages 3 through adult is available at 9:15 a.m.

During the summer we have one service starting at 9 a.m. alternating each Sunday between the traditional and contemporary service. Communion is offered the first and second Sunday of the month. There is no Sunday School during the summer months.

August is...Part Eight in the Lutheran World Relief Community Quilt Project! This month, another symbolic square in the �quilt� is highlighted in our Lutheran Messenger. August is for peace. Look for the �quilt� page and read about LWR�s work in the area of peace. Donations this month should be marked �LWR peace�.

A Father/Son/Friend Fun Day is rescheduled from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, at the Loda Sportsmans Club. There will be a fishing derby, trap shoot, horseshoes and baseball. Come one and all! This is a chance for boys to be boys and enjoy a day of sports and relaxation. Dinner will be served at noon. You will need a fishing license to fish.
